Outside Pixie Stix Cabin [Saturday, Late Morning]

There was something Effy liked about staying up all night. Seeing the day start from what still felt, to her, like the closing of another one. The strangest things appealed to her, and could easily occupy her thoughts like that. For hours, sometimes.

It was possible... (okay, yes probable) that Effy hadn't bothered to sober up, and she was still slightly drunk from her night out. It put her in a lighter, if odder, mood than usual.

Half-drunk or not, it was still around about breakfast time, and after making her toast in the cabin, she took it outside to eat on the steps. Hangover hadn't yet hit, and she was warding it off as long as possible. Until it did, she was going to enjoy the sun.

[[Front porch, so ofc open. I was meaning to press post when it was actually still morning, and... yeah.]]

Actual reasoning. That was something, and Effy curled a little hazy smile. "Suppose not." She had a tendency to think on the darker side, and always tempered the greeting to a shorter 'morning', dropping the 'good' part.

"Compare anything to worst case scenario..." and it usually made it look good. "Not so shabby."

"Oh, those are hardly the worse," said Alexander with a faint, breezy smile of his own. "I could go on, if you'd like. But I can't quite recall if we've met or not, and I hardly feel it's proper to go on about doom and gloom to a lady if we haven't even been properly introduced. Prince Alexander, of Daventry. A pleasure to meet you on this fine, uneventful morning."

"Effy," she said, nodding him a sort of acknowledgment. Girl who took discussions of doom and gloom in her stride, for the most part.

"Prince, huh?" Now she had that little tidbits, the mannerisms in his speech did remind her a little of that former roommate of hers. That whole gallant, gentleman vibe.

It was entirely possible that the grin gained on Alexander's face could get wider, but it was probably a good thing it didn't, because then it could be a little scary. He nodded.

"Yes," he said, "that's right. Of the kingdom of Daventry, which, don't feel bad if you've never heard of it; no one here has. It's a pleasure to meet you, though, Effy. I take it you're residing in this cabin this summer? Or do you simply enjoy the view from this porch more than others?"

"It's mine," she confirmed, glancing back at it. Hers along with those seven other people, anyway. "Definitely not a bad view, though." Currently, he was in it.

Her... whatever, did not stop her from idle appreciation.

"It is rather lovely out here, isn't it?" asked Alexander, oblivious to any appreciation other than for the great outdoors that surrounded him. He took a glance around and breathed in the wonderful air of freedom, then sighed, contentedly.

"I'm in Jujube, myself," he offered conversationally. "I've come to understand that the names are taken from various different candies, which is very clever, but does tend to make one a bit hungry, I think."

"If you know what they are," Effy observed. For a lot of people, yeah it probably had that effect. Not so much for her.

"This place no one knows, where you're from. Doesn't have it?" she assumed.

Alexander grinned; he seemed to be very quick to grin regarding this conversation, unabashed this morning in his unfamiliarity with the world. He shook his head. "Not by these particular names, no," he said, "though we are not without our confectionery treats entirely. I've never had much of a sweet tooth, but I must admit to enjoying researching these names and finding out what they were."

"Figured out the best one yet?" she wondered, leaning the side of her head in against the railing as she looked at him.
