Outside Herbert Hoover Cabin [Thursday, Evening]

First week or so in this sodding weird place, really hadn't been as awful as she'd expected. There were a few people even weren't too bad (and the ones that were she could still annoy the hell out of), a bar where they didn't even try and card her, and there were even a few parties. What else did she really need, right?

For all the last few days had been quieter for her, a couple of classes and not much else, making her way to find other people felt like just a little too much social effort. She could see the light of a couple of other cabins dotted around through the dusk from here, and that was good enough for her.

It was still relatively warm out, so she settled on the steps of her cabin and stretched out to enjoy a bit of evening air, and a bit of evening spliff, to watch the odd moose wander past (and god, being stoned made that a lot easier to digest).

... And hope that she didn't get bitched at for being a fire hazard, or whatever. She was not a fucking fire hazard. She was great with fire.

"Don't really have to be good with people to put a name to a face," Effy pointed out. She wasn't bothered in the slightest, just felt the need to point these things out.

"Guess I'll have to work on being more memorable." Yeah, she probably wouldn't, but she looked at least mildly amused by the prospect. "Get a catchphrase, dye my hair green or something."

She let out a soft little laugh.

"No, just--"

She let it go.

"You're fine. I'm just getting used to this place."

She looked sideways at Effy.

"How are your classes working out at least? You in any of the odd ones?"

"Played Russian roulette with a water pistol," she said after a moment. "Not exactly your every day exercise."

"Can't really complain." She liked a little bit of variety like that, even if she'd been skeptical about Loki's trustworthiness in rigging those things purely to soak them all.

She smirked at that.

"I'm in that one. I tricked my way out of the exercise."

"Can't say I actually pulled the trigger either," she admitted. "But it sounded better to say I played."

"How'd you do it?"

"Pointed out he'd done nothing to earn my trust," she said as she turned her head to lean on one arm.

"Used his own little speech on him. He had to agree I had a point."

Of course, she'd embarrassed herself first, but she wasn't going to mention that part.

"Nice," Effy remarked with a smirk. "Think he either didn't notice or didn't care if I did it or not. Worked for me."

She shrugged.

"I wanted to make a point," she said, edging towards the whole truth but not quite committing to it.

"I did the trustfalls, though. How'd that go for you?"

"Didn't drop anyone," Effy replied. "Think my partner thought I might do." On purpose. She left off the 'on purpose'. She might've given Maron that impression on purpose for the entertainment factor.

That got a bit of a smile.

"That's the point, I guess," she noted before watching the moose.

"What has you out here, I mean, if you don't mind me asking and all?"

Effy waved her spliff vaguely, "Seemed like as comfortable place out here as any." Like those logs around the campfires were in any way comfy.

She shrugged, and offered it to Fiona a moment later.

She looked at it a moment.

"Is that what I think it is?"

She was just checking.

"That really depends what you're thinking," Effy replied, with the sort of smirk that might tell you exactly what it was.

She smiled and reached out to take it, pulling it to her mouth and doing it just as Chuck had shown her the other night. She let the smoke blow out in a soft stream.

"Thanks."

She held it out for Effy to take back.

Effy took it back with a little grin, before taking a drag of her own.

"Nothing quite like it."

And nothing that made you not care that there were wee Canadian moose just wandering around. She liked it for that particularly right now.

Oh, she'd known something even better but it really hadn't worked out well for her.

"It's nice. Soothing."

At least, that's what it did for her.

"Exactly."

Effy knew better, and it hadn't worked out all that well for her before now, not that she'd let that change her ways.

"Might regret it in my first period class tomorrow." At least it was slacking, she could sleep if she wanted to.

"I'll... possibly look the other way if possible," she said. For her part, at least. After all, she was the assistant.

"He gave me the TA position," she explained.

"I can do the same for you in Buddy Class," she offered with a smirk. Not that she thought falling asleep in front of Loki would be in any way a good idea.

... Might be funny if she did, though.

"I should be all right," she admitted, "but who knows what might happen around here?"

Effy got a smile.

"Thanks."

Effy shrugged. "Who knows," she repeated.

Honestly she doubted she'd do much good on that count, for all she was TA. She'd got the job purely for being a cocky pain, after all.

"Least it's not fucking raining glitter this time."

Fiona showed her disgust quite plainly.

"It was nice for a few minutes but I couldn't get it out of my hair for days."

"Sometimes, a shower just isn't enough." And that had definitely been one of those days.

Not that she didn't consider it partially worth it to see a few big guys wandering around covered in sparkles.

Occasionally easily entertained by other people's misfortune, this one.

She grinned.

"Some of the other people were pretty funny to see, though."

"Oh, they were," Effy had to agree, twisting her lips into another smirk with a pull at her joint.

"Boys and glitter should be whole form of entertainment."

Oh, how little she knew of this place.
