Last class for the term finally out of the way, and it was really about time Effy started to think about her trip home tomorrow, and... well, the packing she had to do for it.

Sure, she probably had enough stuff back in Bristol to get by for a week, but an overnight bag at least might be a good idea, and she yanked one out from under her bed to throw a few things into.

If nothing else, she was looking forward to seeing Tony, maybe even Pandora, though she might be less likely to admit to that second one. The couple of things she actually missed about home were the people. That was something she'd never really imagined would be the case.

"Sometimes," she allowed. Sometimes, she was also damn glad to be across the Atlantic from them. "They are my family." Which meant she had to love them, even if they were both fucking dumb sometimes. Hard ass as she pretended to be, she still cared.

"Doing anything for your break?" she asked.

There was a slight nod from Edward as he shifted on his bed to lounge comfortably. He thought he could understand the missing of one's family.

"I don't know. I've not thought beyond this moment."

It was true.

"Got a whole week free," she reminded him. "Should at least figure out something to spend all that time doing."

"Do you have any suggestions?" he asked, curious.

"Don't know we've really got the same idea of a good time," she said, and grinned a little.

He looked mildly confused for a moment.

Oh.

"OH! Yes! No! I mean you are correct!"

Er.

"That is I am certain your good time is just as good as my good time?"

He was not putting her good time down. Certainly it was just a matter of looks and foul language that made the difference between the two. Right?

Effy raised her eyebrows slightly. "Unless you're a big partier, and I just didn't know it?"

"Do know a few places on the mainland I could recommend."

"I do enjoy a party or two."

Effy wouldn't steer him wrong, would she?

It was just that their ideas of a good party might differ ever so slightly... How was she to know.

"Sure I could think of a place to send you," she said, grinning. "Maybe take that girl of yours out, or something."

"Oh! Adora would like a party!" he replied, a bit more excited.

Oh Edward, what are you letting yourself in for.

Effy grinned. "That's the spirit. Usually something interesting to come out of a night like that."

In her case, it often ended with getting arrested, sleeping with a stranger, or just being incredibly drunk. Sometimes all three.

"Something... interesting?" he asked, encouraging her to expand on that.

Ooooonly if he knew her thoughts.

"Full of good stories to tell," she clarified. "You know, adventures." He had to know adventures. Seemed like his kind of thing.

"Fun people to meet, places to see, that sort of thing." Keeping it vague, oh so vague.

"Oooh! Adventures!" he laughed, with much joy.

"Just the thing Adora and I enjoy! You must tell me where to go, Effy!"

Effy considered that a moment grinning in the mischievous sort of way that should have immediately set off alarm bells.

"I've got just the place," she told him, and wandered to her desk to scrawl a name and address on a piece of notepaper to give to him.

"Think you'll gave a great time."

Edward started at that grin of hers. He recognized it. It gave him chills.

Um.

He accepted the paper, gladly, because joy! An adventure was to be had!

That grin of hers was pretty much forgotten. Sometimes his attention span was wee.

"Thank you! Adora and I are sure to enjoy ourselves and we'll owe it all to you!"

"Let me know how you find it," she told him, smile toned down slightly now.

It was probably a good thing she was going away for a week after this.

"I will," he promised. "I'm certain to have excellent stories for you."

Of course, full eye contact was still avoided.

"Uh. Might I ask you a question? Of a more... uh, personal nature?"

"Can't guarantee I'll answer," she replied, cocking her head a little to try and catch his eye.

"But you can ask."

It was terribly hard to catch his eye. He preferred to stare at her chin, or shoulder, even her hair. Possibly her pillow, yes.

"Would you mind terribly if Adora came in here. To visit. Perhaps, all night long, while you're gone?"

Oh, so that was why he was looking so uncomfortable.

"If you want," she replied easily, grin getting a little wider. Aww. "Not like you can really sexile me if I'm not here."
