Room 323 [Saturday, Morning]

Effy's room was dark and freezing, and for the moment she was only putting up with it for the moment simply because she was pretty sure she'd feel colder if she got up and wandered around the dorms.

Not being very good at layers as a general rule, she was probably going to suffer this weekend.

Wasn't doing as badly as she could be, at the moment. Fortunately, she had a hell of a lot of candles, and found herself a long sleeved shirt, leggings and an oversized sweater she'd probably stolen from Tony at some point to pull way down over her knees and wrap her arms around as she fiddled with her phone before the batteries died on her.

Give her a minute, and she'd probably be back under her blankets. Weekend, so no one was going to force her to go anywhere. Could have had worse plans to keep her going until she ultimately got bored.

And of all people, she'd want it to be him too. Wasn't that handy. It got a bit more of a grin out of her too.

"Got light... sort of, duvet, contact with the outside world." For the moment. "Worse places to be." His room was one of them, apparently.

"So, what do I have to do to get you to share?" Because he was not going to stand around and shiver if he could finagle his way into her bed.

"Ask nicely?" she suggested, leaning back to look up at him better. He'd probably object, but hey, couldn't fault the girl for trying.

"I'm fucking freezing out here. Can I share your bed with you?" She was not going to get a please out of him. He'd done as nicely as he could.

Actually... more than Effy had been expecting out of Alex. Used to getting some variation on 'hell no, never'. Cold must be getting to him.

"Can't let you freeze." See how accommodating she could be in response to nice? Shifted over a little for him and everything. "Not after coming down to visit me and all."

"Thank you," Alex said, showing some gratitude and sliding in next to her and trying to get some warmth back in his legs. "Surprised you're not suffering worse since I know you can't be used to this."

"No, I feel like a fucking ice cube too." She just wasn't complaining about it to him yet. But, she could prove it by resting the back of a cold hand against his neck.

Only trouble with him getting that close to her was that.

"Oh, fuck you!" Alex yelped, jumping to try and get away from that hand. "Goddammit, holy shit."

Fine, if she was going to play that way, he was going to twist around enough to put his own cold hand against the side of her neck.

That was pretty damn amusing as responses went until he got his own back, and pulled a gasp out of her. "Just proving a point," she claimed, squirming further down, under cover and away from his hands.

"You could have just told me you were cold," Alex said, following her lead and trying to burrow down to soak up some body heat from her even if they were both cold. Didn't matter, he'd keep his hands to himself for the moment even if he slid closer. "I think I would have believed you, you know."

"Was more fun that way." Well, more interesting, anyway. Effy was all about making things interesting. "Left no doubt, you know." Totally important. Really.

For now, she could put up with warming her hands against his shirt rather than his skin. It was a start.

"I appreciate you driving that point home," he said, making a face at her but sliding up that outer worn shirt out from under her hands (and hell yes, he had on multiple shirts) and then covering them up so she had some coverage.

She'd let him share her bed, he'd let her share some body heat. Totally a nice guy, you see.

"Now, I truly know it's fucking freezing outside," he added. "Waking up and being able to see my breath wasn't enough of an indication."

"Being able to see that indoors is wrong," she grumbled, sliding her arms around him under that shirt.

"... Not sure you could wear more if you tried."

"If you're gonna complain, you can stop using me as a heater," he joked, getting one of his arms around her so he could, at least, get some warmth that way. "I didn't think you'd be wanting to strip me out of my clothes today either."

"Maybe later." If it was less icy cold, and taking of layers seemed a little more bearable. She'd got naked in quite some conditions, but blizzard and no power was not one she wanted to add to the list.

"Warmer than anything else round here right now. Not bad."

"Your gratitude is appreciated," he said, slouching a little lower and blowing out a breath. "What were you doing in here before I came by? Thinking? Meditating?"

"Fiddling," she added. "Considering hiding here til the heat comes back." It was very tempting. Very, very tempting.

"If you let me stay, I'll let you fiddle with whatever I've got on me," Alex bargained, giving her an, by now, all too familiar eyebrow waggle. "You can keep using me as a heater."

"Using the eyebrows to bargain," Effy commented, smirking. "That's mean. How could I resist?"

"You can't, that's the point." Seemed to work pretty effectively even if she was just playing along. "I don't even know what I've got in my pockets for you to fiddle with. Feel free to go digging, you've got your hands closer."

"First guess," she said, sliding her hands down towards his pockets. "Lighter."

Because this was Alex, and of all things, she was pretty sure that was universally somewhere on him.

"I think that's in there." It definitely was. It went into his pockets automatically. "A pretty full one, too. Just bought a few ones the other day. I must be psychic or something."

"Cigarettes, condoms... crappy keyring?" Could see if she was right in a minute. Figured she knew him pretty well by now, including what went into his pockets.

"You think I was thinking about sex this morning?" Not that she was wrong, those were definitely in his wallet but still. That had maybe been his...third thought of the morning. "And no crappy keyring today."

His phone was shoved in one pocket (fully charged thankfully) and some stupid lip balm to make sure he didn't make his healing lip any worse.

Keyring she could see as a one-off. Him thinking about sex, however... "Trying to suggest you didn't?"
