Room 323 [Saturday, Morning]

Effy's room was dark and freezing, and for the moment she was only putting up with it for the moment simply because she was pretty sure she'd feel colder if she got up and wandered around the dorms.

Not being very good at layers as a general rule, she was probably going to suffer this weekend.

Wasn't doing as badly as she could be, at the moment. Fortunately, she had a hell of a lot of candles, and found herself a long sleeved shirt, leggings and an oversized sweater she'd probably stolen from Tony at some point to pull way down over her knees and wrap her arms around as she fiddled with her phone before the batteries died on her.

Give her a minute, and she'd probably be back under her blankets. Weekend, so no one was going to force her to go anywhere. Could have had worse plans to keep her going until she ultimately got bored.

Effy inclined her head slightly in a nod of understanding. She'd had similar lists for Tony in the months after his accident.

"Feels like there's something really wrong having to be more responsible than your parents," she commented, tucking it back away for him.

"I don't have to use them as often as I once did. Take the good where I can get it," he said, half smiling and leaning forward to press a kiss against whatever part of her he could reach without jostling the sprawl she had on him.

"Find something more fun than that, Effy," he joked, shaking his head and trying to steer the conversation away from the maudlin. "My wallet's not that boring."

"Think if I took your condoms you'd be lost," she said, quirking a bit of a smile of her own as she looked over his ID. Possibly committing his birthday to memory while she did that.

"You have no idea how many stashes of condoms I have," he said, picking up her phone again and attempting to take a quick picture. The light level sucked, she was nearly on top of him and it was cold but he didn't care.

"Besides, there are things I can do that don't require condoms," he said slyly.

"I know." Been involved in some of those before now, and she broke into a little grin that probably got caught on camera thanks to his timing. "Sure I remember certain things."

Yeah, that'd been really good timing on his part. Smiling wasn't something she did all that often and he did like them.

"Yeah?" he asked, looking back over at her. "Got a favorite?"

What? His ego demanded it be asked.

"More than one." Vague but true. He knew he was good, in multiple ways, wasn't like she could really make that ego of his that much bigger. "Do you?"

Besides, encouragement couldn't really be considered a bad thing, right?

Encouragement was never a bad thing. And he tended to take it well which benefited her.

"Yeah," he shared, nodding. "I have a favorite or two. Doesn't mean I'm going to share until you do. You can't get without giving this time. I wanna know."

"Course you do," Effy noted. Probably expected that when she said it, and reached for one of his hands, trailing her fingers over his idly as she smirked and considered her response.

"Got some really, really good hands," she said after a moment. That was what she was focusing on for the moment. "Having them all over me, that's a favourite."

"First thing I tend to touch people with so I'm going to make damn sure they're good," he said, wriggling his fingers slightly when she touched them.

"Using my hands on you means I get to see your reactions too," he said and that was a thing of his. "And you do react even if you don't make noise. That's a favorite for me."

Effy curled a little smile, "Not everyone gets that." Sometimes she did her covering up of all that better than others.

"You pay attention." Which was more than most people did, she found, and Effy was never going to be hugely demonstrative.

"Most people think I don't," he said, tossing her phone somewhere near his hip so he could use his other hand and slide it along her waist. "It's nice to prove them wrong."

In fact, he loved it. But he always loved proving people wrong. "Sure I could fight the cold long enough to put my hands on you if you want that to be your prize."

Or if she just wanted him to do it. He wasn't fussed.

"Feels like you're fighting it quite well so far." Enough that she didn't feel in danger of freezing completely, at least. "Might even help." Many, many ways to get warm, and that sounded like a fun one.

"I'm a pretty hardy guy," he said, finally slipping one of his hands up and under her shirt to slide against her skin. "And handy enough to figure out I can keep you warm and still give you something you want."

"Think I made the right choice keeping you around," she teased, closing her eyes briefly with a grin as she slid up closer, abandoning his wallet for now.

Worth it. Even if it had involved a few texts she'd probably have to explain away later.

"Were you thinking of not keeping me around?" he wondered lightly, using that new closeness to get his lips against her throat and his other hand under her shirt and against her skin. "Had someone else in mind to keep you warm?"

Not that he thought that but if she could tease, he could tease while he got those hands she liked on her.

Couldn't really expect him not to, when she was. A little of that baiting was just in their way. If only they always kept it to this lighter level.

"No one else," Effy promised, mostly under her breath. He liked hearing the truth, and that was a little from her.

"So, tell me you want me to stay," he requested, pulling her a little closer to him, using the fact that the blankets and his lap had gotten pretty warm because she'd been laying on him. It allowed his hands to snake further up her back to, fingers brushing her shoulder blades. "Tell me."

"I do," she muttered, leaning a bit closer and letting her nose brush his cheek. "I want you to stay."

Lucky he was the sort to push her into these things, or he might never get her to share little bits like that.

"For how long?" Hey, he'd gotten an inch, he could try and take a little more. And he could try and soften her up with warm, wet lips against her throat, sucking at her pulse and hands running up and down her back, occasionally sliding around to her stomach.

Effy hitched a breath, spreading her own hands on his stomach. "How long you want to stay?" she turned back on him.

That response kind of spoke for itself, even if she hadn't been thinking about it at the time.

"Awhile," he said, still keeping it vague even if she'd just given him a pretty open ended, telling answer. He didn't immediately add anything else, choosing instead to dip his fingers under the waist of her pants. "How long do you want me to stay?"

He could turn it back on her even if he'd asked the original question. Her turn to give an answer. And he'd let his lips slide down to the top of her chest, over her shirt for the moment.

One day she'd learn to just come out with things not vague around until he forced them out of her.

"Might not let you leave unless it warms up," she told him, smiling as he shifted lower. Pretend that she could actually prevent him going anywhere if he wanted to.

"I could probably be convinced to stay for that long." It wouldn't take much considering he'd been thinking about staying that long anyway. Being with her was a lot better than being alone.

He kept his fingers below the waist of her pants, slowly sliding them forward until he was tapping against her stomach, teasing a move even lower.

"So, tell me that definitively," he said, trying to get a little more out of her. He sat up a little more, lightly pressing his lips against hers so she could feel it when he talked. "Convince me to stay."

"This isn't convincing enough?" she murmured, circling her fingertips on his skin. Felt pretty fucking convincing to her. "Doesn't make you want to stick around?"
