Room 323 [Thursday, Afternoon]

Most days, Effy found issues could be pretty easily buried. She was practiced, good at it, and spending time away had helped. Skiing wasn't her, snowboarding, hot tubbing, relaxing. It wasn't really her. Actually it was easier not being her.

But. Reality had slowly leaked back in, and there were days like today, when she let her guard down and dreams of other places slithered in and got comfortable and brought friends, and bothered her. A lot.

Without class today to take her mind off things, she had to make her own entertainment. Shift her focus away from whatever shit was taking up space in her mind. No, today she had a... project.

Effy could be surprisingly productive when she was thrown into the right -- or possibly wrong, mental state. She should probably be considering what Peter would think of her new decorative impulses. Whatever. It was a little marker pen, and on her side of the room at least.

[[Door and post are open, Effy is... weird.]

Effy exhaled a quiet snicker. "Oh yeah. You're the big man, aren't you?" Still didn't quite picture Alex the student council type.

"Big man all over," he said and smirked. "The title fits the guy, don't you think?"

Effy hummed an indistict sound of agreement, smoothing his shirt idly. "Student council president... How's the power?"

"Not bad," he said and shrugged. "Not like I have to work hard since there's a lot of other people around. I just gotta contribute ideas and set up shit. Keeps me busy and occupied, if anything. Good to take my mind off my miserable life."

"So you don't resort to defacing walls." Effy probably enjoyed the defacing more than organising student events. "I'll do it," she said, skipping swiftly back to the original topic. "Dress up, short skirt, all that."

"Awesome," he said, smiling sincerely. Hey, if there was one thing that could make him smile, it was the thought of her in a short dress. "I'm guessing you'll be sticking to the dark corners, right?"

"Maybe." But now he said that, it really made her want to break the habit just to be contrary. "They are quite... homey."

"And they provide nice cover for any...private conversations." Or for times when he got her to undress him for fun.

"Or getting bored and flashing people." And somehow, this was the guy who'd been voted in to help run the school. It was no wonder she found the idea so amusing.

"You gonna flash me?" Alex asked hopefully. "Last time I did that, I got into deep shit so I'll have to pass on doing it again. Student council president and all."

"Look at you, setting a good example." Deflecting the question of flashing him for now. "If I didn't know better, might figure you were going all goody-goody on me."

"At school events only," he clarified, rolling his eyes. "I think you'd still dig me even if I was a goody two shoes. You're addicted to me."

"I don't know, maybe it's just that bad boy persona. Like catnip." She'd been a cat once, the comparison could be weirder.

"Did you just compare my personality to something a cat likes?" Alex asked, making a face. "Don't do that again. It's weird."

Effy shrugged reaching to snag her pen from his fingers. "What's so wrong about that?" He thought that was odd. After thing's he'd heard from her?

"I'm not a fucking cat," Alex said, shaking his head. "I walk on two legs and I prefer licking other fucking people instead of myself."

"Never said you were," she pointed out, turning that pen between her fingers. Did like having something to fiddle with. "Not sure I'd be into it if you were all stuck on licking yourself."

"Yeah, but you compared my personality to something associated with cats," he pointed out, making a face. "Almost sounds like you'd rather I have cat characteristics."

Effy breathed a laugh and shook her head. "No thanks." She'd keep the bad boy attitude and ego the size of a house.

"Compared being drawn to you, to something associated with cats." Which wasn't quite the same. Still weird, but not that much.

"You're drawn to me because you can't fucking resist," he said, smirking. "Nothing to do with catnip."

"Goes both ways," she said, tapping his chest with the end of her pen now. "Don't bother denying it." She was just as addictive, as far as she could tell. Not like he seemed to be going anywhere.

"I didn't deny it," Alex pointed out, shrugging. "I'm the one that came to ask you to where a short skirt, didn't I? All the evidence you need right there."

"Addicted." To her and all her slightly strange little ways. She was lucky, really. "I'll take it." Obviously.

"Gonna help keep me busy?" So she didn't feel the need to destroy anything in the name of boredom and avoidance.

"Tonight?" He shrugged and nodded. "Yeah, sure. I've got no other plans. I can stick around and be your entertainment."
