Room 323 [Saturday, Afternoon]

By mid-afternoon, it was getting a little too hot for her very pale British self to be anywhere outside (even if it was alligator free, now), so Effy was in the dorms, and in true antisocial spirit, in her own room. She hadn't honestly spent all that much time there since moving out of the cabins, so it was probably about time.

The door was open, which either showed some vague social improvement on her part, or possibly just that she was hoping for a bit of a breeze while she finally got around to unpacking properly. Probably the latter.

Anyway, there was that, and she was even occasionally pausing to get lost in her music for a minute. It was entirely possible she was happy in a less than natural sort of way.

It was a weekend, was there really any better way to spend her time?

Effy smirked, nodding towards one of the boxes. "Go on then," she said. "Have a ball. I'd rather you didn't try wearing them anyway."

"I'm not unpacking for you," he said dryly. "I was kidding. If I open that box, I'm dumping the shit on the ground and leaving it like that."

"And you said my choices were crap," she said, shaking her head and leaning back on her hands again. "You won't even do your own."

"Do you want me to dump your shit on your floor?" he asked, sliding over to one of the boxes. "Because, I'm fine with that."

"Want is a strong word," Effy answered, watching him. "But I gotta take everything out of the sodding things anyway." She shrugged.

"Break anything and you're in shit."

"I really don't think you could do anything to me," he said, tearing open the top of one box, taking a quick look and dumping it on the floor.

See, just like he said.

"Okay, that is kind of fun." Wasn't his stuff, after all.

Effy was fairly sure she could if she put her mind to it, but kept her mouth shut. He'd only deny it, she was sure.

"Been a while since you stabbed anyone with stationary," she pointed out. "Probably got a bit of excess aggression to get out."

"I've been finding other outlets for my aggression," he said, shrugging and reaching for another box. He tore it open and dumped the contents, kicking lightly with one foot. "And it means less people crying in my face because 'ow ow my hand is bleeding!' or something like that."

"Annoying little thing that tends to happen when you stab people," she said, pushing away from her desk and snagging a bottle that had rolled out of the particular box.

She'd forgotten about that one.

"Looks like you're learning."

"Learning nothing, there's just no one here that needs to be stabbed." Though, he was pretty sure there could be sometime soon.

Ignoring the other boxes for the moment, he asked, "What've you got?"

Effy shrugged, unscrewing the top and taking a sniff.

"Tequila, maybe," she guessed, taking a sip. Whatever it was, she'd still drink it.

"Can't tell your liquor?" he asked, reaching for another box to dump its contents onto the floor. He had a pretty nice pile going on. "And here I thought you were good."

"I was right," she said, not quite willing to let him get away with saying she didn't know what she was talking about. Fuck that, she did know.

"Find anything interesting?" she asked, peering down at the pile. It was mostly clothes, but he did say he liked that sort of thing on the floor.

"I really can't tell," he said, kneeling down and looking closer. "Why don't you try some of the stuff on for me? I bet I could make a better judgment that way."

Hey, the clothes were handy and all.

"Does that count as entertainment?" she asked.

"I think so," he said, nodding. "For us both."

Somehow. He was sure it would work out.

"Yes. It counts as entertainment."

He was a guy. Of course it was entertainment. Stupid question. Effy rolled her eyes, and wriggled out of her shirt before holding out a hand for something.

Yes, the door was open. Does she really strike anyone as the prudish type to care if someone might be walking past? No shame at all.

And it wasn't like he was going to walk over and shut the door. He picked up the first thing that he grabbed and handed it to her, smirking the whole while.

"You act like this is such a hardship for you," he remarked after the eyeroll.

"It's not," she replied, just smirking right back as she took it. "Just should've known it was entertainment for you."

"Hey, if my shit was on the ground, I'd do the same for you." Maybe. "It's a nice view, if that helps."

Well, of course it was. Effy knew that much, nice as it was to hear every once in a while.

"Have to remember to start throwing stuff on the floor in your room," she decided, pulling that top over her head.

"You haven't even been to my room," he pointed out, giving her another grin. "And most of my shit was in bags and they're unpacked."

"I'm sure I could find it," she said easily. "Gotta be a dorm list somewhere." Like his stuff not being in bags was really a deterrent.

"Feeling entertained?" she asked, gesturing at herself.

"Very," he said, enjoying the view with several long looks. Teenage boy, yes he was. "And other things but yes, entertained most definitely."
