Room 323 [Saturday, Afternoon]

By mid-afternoon, it was getting a little too hot for her very pale British self to be anywhere outside (even if it was alligator free, now), so Effy was in the dorms, and in true antisocial spirit, in her own room. She hadn't honestly spent all that much time there since moving out of the cabins, so it was probably about time.

The door was open, which either showed some vague social improvement on her part, or possibly just that she was hoping for a bit of a breeze while she finally got around to unpacking properly. Probably the latter.

Anyway, there was that, and she was even occasionally pausing to get lost in her music for a minute. It was entirely possible she was happy in a less than natural sort of way.

It was a weekend, was there really any better way to spend her time?

"Oh yes, I know," he said and flicked the penny at her. "Did it get you to stop imaging the dancing?"

"Not really," she answered truthfully, only flinching back a little as she put her hands out to catch the coin. "Image was a little too good to let go of. Sorry."

She really wasn't sorry, surprise surprise.

"You want to try again?"

Truthfully, he didn't care all that much about the imagined dancing. He didn't care at all. But, it was about competition and amusement to him.

"Sure," he said after a moment. "Pick something else."

"Juggle?" she suggested. "Or, can you breathe fire or some fun shit like that?"

"Are you like some carnival groupie or some shit?" he asked because seriously. "What's with the obsession with stupid tricks?"

Effy shrugged. "Fine, pick something yourself," she said. "Impress me."

"I don't feel the pressing need to impress you," he replied, shaking his head. "You wanna imagine me, fine. Just remember, that you're the one imaging me."

Even if she was lying, he could tease.

"You did bust out a magic penny for me," she said, grinning and holding it up. "I got something."

"Oh yes, a magic penny," he said, nodding. "Wave it around and see if it does your bidding."

"Might do all the fucking boring unpacking I've got left," she mused, looking at it.

"So, don't unpack," he said, looking around. Seemed simple to him. "If it's boring, find something else to do and stop complaining."

"And what's your grand plan for the day?" she asked. "Offering me your sage advice?"

"Oh yes, definitely, I woke up with the plan to come see you," he said sarcastically. "I can cross that off my to do list."

Truthfully, he didn't mind seeing her but he wouldn't admit that. She'd just get smug again.

"Other than that, I haven't made any grand plans. I'm playing it by ear, looking for something entertaining."

"And here I thought you might've enjoyed entertaining me," Effy said with a smirk. "Not good enough?"

"You're good enough," he said truthfully. He could do that sometimes. Imagine that. "I'm just not clapping like trained seal for you."

"Aw. That was gonna be my next request," she said sarcastically, even if the complement in there did get a bit of a smile out of her.

"You must have been really damn deprived as a kid if the best you can think of is circus sideshow acts," he decided. "Maybe I thought you were good enough."

"Can't go taking back your approval now," she told him. "It's already out there."

"Oh, too bad, I took it back," he said and shrugged. "I was wrong about you. It happens. Sometimes I'm wrong."

"I'll have to remember that little bit of information next time you try to claim you know something," she decided. Always happy to take advantage. Isn't she sweet?

He slanted a glance at her before saying, "Why don't you entertain me? You're so keen on me entertaining you, let's see what you can do."

"Because that wasn't our deal," Effy replied. "And I am definitely not drunk enough to do it out of the kindness of my heart."

"I wasn't aware there was any sort of deal going on here," he said, looking around. "I was aware of you asking and me answering. Tell me why I should entertain you if you want it that badly."

"You," she said, reaching to tap his chest illustratively. "Said pick one, and you'd do it. There's gotta be a deal in there somewhere."

That was a reason to her.

"I," he said, looking down at that finger on his chest before looking back up at her, "said pick one and I'd see about it. I never said I'd do it."

Semantics.

"You," he said and mimicked her movement by poking her chest, "have picked shitty things."
